We begin with a short phone call or meeting.
This is a chance to talk things through; who the film is for, what you’re hoping to capture, and any questions you might have about the process.
There’s no preparation needed. I’ll explain how filming works, what to expect, and help you decide whether a Chronicle Film feels right for you.
Step 2: Preparation
After booking, you’ll receive guidance to help you prepare for the filmed conversation. These are prompts designed to help memories surface naturally.
You might look through old photographs, make note of important moments or people, or think about stories you’d like to include.
Nothing needs to be perfect or complete. Preparation simply helps filming feel relaxed and natural.
Step 3: Filming at home
Filming takes place in the comfort of your home, using a simple, professional setup designed to feel calm and unobtrusive.
The day is structured around a series of relaxed conversations.
We take breaks whenever needed and there’s always time to pause, or revisit stories.
There’s no need to memorise anything - the aim is authenticity, not perfection.
Step 4: Crafting the film
After filming, the storytelling continues in the edit.
This is where the conversations are carefully shaped into a story-led documentary, preserving not just memories, but personality, humour, and emotion.
The film includes family photographs and music chosen to suit the tone of the story.
Editing is a thoughtful process, allowing the film to feel natural, cinematic, and timeless.
Step 5: A finished film
Once complete, your Chronicle Film is delivered via a private online viewing link, making it easy to watch and share with family anywhere in the world.
We also provide a beautifully framed Film poster, including a QR code to your Chronicle Film.
